The nose is dominated by red fruits but is made nicely complex by nutmeg, cinnamon and maybe a hint of sous bois... wonderful! The palate is carried by sappy, sweet pinot red fruits, with some underlying darker earthy and mineral complexities, a nice medium body, and a decent finish. You wouldn't name this as Burgundy in a blind tasting, but you would definitely notice and appreciate that this wine is more balanced, complex and elegant than many "Yee-haw!" Cali pinots these days. I might have scored it a 90 or 91, but this wonderful wine gets extra points for its extra dimensions. Well done!
