Monday, December 14, 2020 - The Third Annual Blind Tasting of American Sparkling Wine: Retail $22. 75% Chardonnay, 25% Pinot Blanc. Very light straw with a bit of funk, almost a caramel/marzipan thing going on here. The palate is nice and tart, not much creaminess to speak of, but that is OK, not all sparklers have to be laden with freshly-baked croissant. The nose and the palate could not be much further apart. Again, OK, but it causes a bit of inner angst since I like the palate a bit more than the nose. Luckily, the palate is the more important of the two, at least for me. 90. thedrunkencyclist.com
