Thursday, July 29, 2021 - A big hunky bottle of California Chardonnay. An excellent wine but clearly outclassed by the ‘07 Marcassin Vineyard. The fruit and glycerin is impressive and the wood is just a touch too prominent. While the Marcassin Vineyard marries the elevage to perfection, this bottle tips just a touch heavy handed. Still, this is nitpicking. I adore this wine and think this team makes the best Chardonnay not made in Burgundy. (93)
