Community Tasting Note

Friday, October 14, 2005 - I like this a lot, not so much for now as for 6-10 years out. Nose was a bit shy and reduced on day 1, opening on day 2 to show ripe red cherry cough syrup, and menthol, with some cedar shaving notes. In the mouth, very attractive, pure, quite focused, red/cherry/ripe fruit accented by some woodsy/truffle notes. Ripe, sweet, pretty fruit on the finish before a firm swipe of fine grained sandpaper takes a little skin on the tounge. I love the purity, depth, and focus of the fruit in this. Being new to the whole B&B thing, I have to say that this doesn't fit my paradigm for the wines, but it does evoke a 1993 Giacosa Barolo drunk a few months ago in NY. Pretty and very enjoyable to me, I'll buy more.
