Friday, April 1, 2011 - Dark ruby red. Smoky with lots of roasted green pepper and spice. Complex, meaty and big with more sweet fruit than a more traditional Italian. Still a nice balance between old and new school. Good special occasion crowd-pleaser (a high-powered business lunch maybe?) especially if you don't know everyone's wine tastes. Think hearty meat dishes like ossobuco or pappardelle with wild boar ragù.
