Monday, May 16, 2011 - Burgundy 2011 Day 1: Visit to Domaine Vincent Dancer (Chassagne-Montrachet): Very nice. Gentle toast and nutty notes on the nose were accompanied by some creamy scents, a hint of mineral and some ripe stone fruit tones. The palate was a slight shift in gear. Supremely elegant, it had such lovely definition and freshness in its flavours of Chinese pears, pink guava and a little dollop of cream. The finish was very gentle, but had a sneaky length, lingering in the mouth with lots of mineral, flowers and a little almond nut scent. Drinking nicely now, but it should continue to improve quite well over the next few years.
