Saturday, May 19, 2018 - PNP. wax capsule completely disintegrated and mostly gone w obvious leakage w some mold at top. significant ullage. worked the crumbling cork out with an impromptu durand. Color opaque brown with amber edges. nose reminiscent of old port. swishing shows fully oxidized fruit without any tannin, alcohol, or acid to speak of. finish was actually pleasant turning the faintest bitter on the end. dunno if this was a representative bottle (found in a crumbling cardboard box on the floor of a wine shop in Madrid). this was potable but not what i expected.....amazed though that it wasnt vinegar. must have been something to behold in its youth.

after being open 5 days on the counter without a cork it is unmoved....reminiscent of an aged balsamic
