Friday, March 29, 2013 - Brought up from the cellar, popped and poured. Color: Golden brown. Nose: There was quite a bit of evolution in the nose over 3 hours. At first somewhat closed but gradually opened up. Initially dominated by rich yellow fruit but the nose then morphed into more muted yellow fruits, a few flowers with a background of burnt sugar. Palate: Almost cloying and flabby in the beginning but then settled down wonderfully. Sweet, sappy and rich. Marmalade, orange and apricots as well cream, burnt sugar and a slow burning spice. Wine you could spread it on toast. By the end of the night, I could not keep my nose out of the glass. Heavens this was lovely.
