Monday, October 11, 2010 - Dark. Big nose of blackberry/deep plum cassis blended with spices and light chocolate. The fruit is very pure and primary and doesn't seem modified by much oak. Initially, it's obviously too young for drinking and very restrained in the mouth due to the high acid and tannin. After about an hour and a half, with food, it rounds showing good density and length despite never shedding the tannin completely. Very good wine that needs time, 3-5 years minimum, or a long decant. Difficult to rate as it's so backward but this has the structure and fruit to develop into something stellar.
