Tuesday, May 22, 2012 - Bottle variation rears its ugly head here. This time around, the nose was expressive upon opening. I said "wow", this is gonna be good. First sip was very good - full bodied, dark fruits, and chocolate. Hint of pepper. However, the finish was very short with a little bit of heat. The wine did not develop at all over the evening. We enjoyed it, but again, I feel this was a bit of a letdown given how much I have enjoyed this wine in other vintages. Will not buy again. Update Day 2: Undrinkable. It was sealed with vacuvin, but it still turned out to be an alcoholic mess. I usually see this happen to $7 grocery store wine.
