Tuesday, December 14, 2010 - After reading the other comments on this wine, I see huge bottle variation. This was decanted and then consumed over 2.5 hours with a chargrilled porterhouse, fries and brussel sprouts. At first this was very tarry in both nose and palate. This took the better part of an hour to blow off leaving a rich moutful of black friuts, a little earth, a touch of vanillin, some roasted herbs with a gorgeous, velvety mouthfeel. I had warned the servers and somms that I wouldn't be able to finish the whole bottle by myself but had to fight with myself to leave some for them!
