Sunday, April 5, 2020 - Drinking a 1999 lower ranking Bordeaux in 2020 was always going to be an adventure but it’s been in my cellar since it’s release. I am happy to report it’s excellent longevity and pleasure still offered. Full rich mouthful of mature jam and black current flavours with a short finish of walnuts. No tannin or dryness.
Decided not to aerate before tasting and this allowed the wine to slowly develop a more interesting nose and length.
