Saturday, June 29, 2019 - This is the second time I drink this vintage of Ridge, and last time the wine performed well but felt like it was approaching old age. This bottle was a completely different story! Very vigorous and the wine still felt young and continued to improve after several hours. Tobacco, pencil shavings, grass and red fruit on the nose. The palate was full of cherries and well balanced tannins carried by supple fruit. Served blind and I could have guessed this was a quality left bank Bordeaux. Only one bottle left in the cellar. The question I now have to ask is how do I get ahold of another?
