Saturday, July 9, 2016 - Very pale slightly translucent amber; red licorice, wet leaves, cummin-tumeric, pot-pouri, furniture varnish burnished cabinet--you get the idea. Showing strong signs of age but everything in tact and quite appealing. Very light, fine dusty tannins, in great shape despite the vintage and this being pre-renovation of the estate. Obviously a lighter style that did not score well then, but held some nice surprises. Drink now, do not wait. This is pre-1erGCCA, and pre-name change from L'Angelus to Angelus. High-End Bordeaux Tasting at Monopole.
