Monday, March 27, 2023 - Served blind. Guesses were all over the place from aged N Rhone to old Barolo to Burg. Overall this was very good but nothing that tells you Volnay. Color beginning to fade a bit but the wine was terrific. There was some olive tapenade along with darker fruit, good acidity, red berries, moderate spice and plenty of minerality and polish. Its time to drink these 98s - not in decline but not going to improve from here.
