Friday, June 11, 2021 - Weekend of 11-13 June 2021; 6/11/2021-6/13/2021: Holy guacamole. A very tired label belied a really lovely wine. By no means over the hill, the colour was just starting to see bricking around the edges, on the nose a hint of forest floor and red fruits but no real funkiness. On the palate - savoury, a hint of cherry stones, a strawberryish near-sweetness but again, just a savoury deliciousness I associate with Cote de Beaune reds. Bought as part of a mixed case at a recent auction and if they're all like this - an absolute steal.
