Sunday, October 8, 2023 - Sunday Northern Rhône Survey (San Francisco): Light ruby with fading- mature looking. Wow, really stemmy compared to the other 3 vintages. Also some citrus and olive on the nose. Medium body, elegant soil base. Leaner feel, more mineral, flavors divided between black fruit and herbal notes, and a bit of warmth. Shorter finish. It feels less integrated than the 2 younger wines, but much better in the mouth than the rather jarring initial scents suggested. I struggled with this wine.
