Saturday, February 18, 2012 - Full blown aromas of kirsch, spice box, jammy black raspberry and garrigue are all over the place. Powerful, concentrated and lush, this stylish Chateauneuf du Pape ends with a long, fresh, pure array of ripe, sweet, spicy cherries. 84% Grenache from 100 year old vines is the key to this wine. The remainder of the blend is 8% Syrah and 8% Mourvedre. This is drinking well now and will only get better.
