Tuesday, February 9, 2010 - Mourvedre through a new-world lens. Has the leathery/tobacco notes of a Bandol, but they're playing second fiddle to some lovely plum (and other dark) fruits. Nice structure, but falls a bit on the finish; doesn't move much on day two. A big, juicy wine that plays well with food, but could also be sipped alone. A great value at the close out price, I'd probably go old world (for my tastes) at full-boat retail. Don't get me wrong, though, this was tasty.
