Sunday, December 19, 2021 - I really enjoyed this unicorn wine, and I am not a fan of CdP or Grenache in general. I couldn't find much information about the '74 vintage in the Rhone, but am well aware that it was a disaster in Burgundy and Bordeaux, so expectations were not high. Rather light color and body, this is a very elegant, almost ephemeral wine. Not much on the nose, but the palate shows the confectioned cherry notes I associate with Grenache, along with lovely garrigue notes. Surprisingly, this was not a dying wine, as I opened it about 2h before pouring and each glass got better. This was so easy to drink, between the three of us the bottle did not last long.
