Friday, September 21, 2012 - Medium/deep garnet core, medium pale garnet rim. Intense, complex nose showing sour red cherries, earth, notes of undergrowth and tobacco, slight mineral edge. Compelling. Palate is medium/full bodied, deep, laced with sour red cherries, soil, fizzing with electric acidity which contrasts brilliantly with the rich flavours. The tannins are firm, but very fine and well integrated and covered by the fruit and the finish is good length and juicy. This is lovely, drinking well now but absolutely no hurry. Superb.
