Wednesday, August 9, 2023 - Happy birthday to me. This is a lovely mature bordeaux with all the accoutrements. I double decanted for 30 minutes before drining over 3 hours. It opens with a bouquet of a mature estuary bordeaux and tell tale almond scent, as soon as you pull the cork. While clearly mature, the verve of the fruit is evident, so we are not at the absolute pinnacle. I think this still has a decade of development, although at this point, the improvement will be minimal from here on out. This is a lovely mature Latour, exhibiting its power albeit in a shy vintage. Drink now or over the next decade.
