Friday, September 13, 2019 - Popped and poured, though a decant would have helped. Test for birthday v 05 Troplong Mondot and 05 Pavie Mac. This wine is drinking ok now, but would really benefit from another couple of years in the cellar. The nose was somewhat muted, but already offered the classic Latour cassis, and a complex combination of fed and black fruit. No secondary characteristics yet. A bit of a tannic bite at first. This is a very fine wine, but I think it needs a bit more time to reach peak.
