Saturday, April 30, 2011 - My first experience with BdM. This is a wine of understatement finesse and class, not one of power. I get soft cherries and even a hint of creamy nectarine. Being 7 years old, secondary autumnal flavors are just beginning to emerge. The soft tannin and oak pick up mid-palate and carry through the finish, adding a complementary dimension without ever taking center stage. The finish is mildly dry and very refreshing. All and all, a delightful wine and very food friendly to boot.
