Sunday, September 1, 2013 - Thanks to my friend Jess who contributed this wine from her cellar.
Reddish brown colour. Poured through Vinturi into decanter.
Initially closed, but opened up beautifully after an hour.
Fruity cherry nose. Sweet entry. On the palate, juicy mouth-watering dark berries and cherries. Also tasted tomato/stem and leather. Tannins still chewy, but not overwhelming. With more air, the nose revealed hints of mocha. The ensuing sweetness was so good. The berries were really dancing on the tongue. Drink up now! This is Brunello in its prime.
