Friday, February 12, 2016 - Takes about an hour in the decanter for the acidity to soften a little. Garnet in color (showing its age) and somewhat cloudy. Definitely black tea and herbs on the nose at this stage, with some tobacco and sour cherries. Dried, sour cherries on the palate, with a lingering pucker. Everything continued to mellow as it sat longer. Still lots of tartness and tannins all night. Based on my experience with my first bottle 1½ years ago (rated 94), this bottle may have been a little off; I don't recall cloudiness in the first one.
