Wednesday, February 7, 2018 - Wednesday wine night casual at ES BK. Tasted blind. Apparently aired in bottle for many hours already.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of earth, dark red cherries, ripe strawberry, chalky rocks minerality. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of leather, earth, chalky rocks minerality, dark red cherries, red plums, ripe strawberry. Long finish.
Very good quality. I was guessing Gevrey Chambertin Premier Cru here. Good old vine fruit quality. Not rustic, but just lacking the feeling of refinement. Prefer Pavelot's 2007 Savigny 1er La Dominode.
