Wednesday, August 17, 2011 - Fresh and juicy, but under control. Nice nose, a bit of heat at first, with mixed berries and a green tobacco note; rich, juicy dark fruit flavors (plums, blackberries), nice acidity, some bitter chocolate and licorice, a savory meaty note, and smooth tannins; nice finish, with the tannins carrying through. I'm leaning much more towards WS (89) on this than the other CT reviewers. A great value imho and likely to be enjoyed by many. Went perfectly with grilled butterflied lamb.
