Friday, February 11, 2011 - Tight and tannic when opened, but an hour in a decanter and it's opening quite nicely. Licorice, tar, burnt oak, dark fruits and some floral notes on the nose. Bitter chocolate, dark berries, vanilla, with a good belt of stiff tannins on the back end, but going down easy after a long work week. It might not last long enough to hit full stride.
