Sunday, April 1, 2018 - Consumed half on Saturday night and the other half with lunch on Sunday. Decanted half the magnum into an empty screw cap bottle, filled to the rim and stored overnight in the fridge. The other half decanted and allowed to breath for an hour and a half. The cork showed signs of wine travel along one side with a small stain on top of the cork. However it extracted cleanly and there were no unsavoury aromas on the cork. A quick taste on opening revealed good fruit and wood but an odd metalic odour which blew off within 10-20 minutes. The wine was great including the bottle kept for Sunday. The guests loved it and described the red berries, currants and slightly chocolatey wood. Velvet tannins, light acid and excellent length. It went quickly.
