Friday, January 17, 2014 - "Best of the Best" Tasting (Switzerland): Tasted blind, 0.75 bottle, double decanted back into original bottle:
Clear and deep ruby color. Nose of truffles, currant, dark berries, leather and mint. The tannins are still present, almost a bit dry. At the moment this wine comes over almost as rustic, but behind the curtain one can feel the pedigree of this bottle. Flavors of mint, dark berries, coffee. Enormous power and complexity but definitely still too young. The decanting did not help so the best strategy is patience for another 5-10 years and then the firework will start. A potential candidate for the triple digits.
