Thursday, July 21, 2011 - First of all, this is the old bottle shape, which sends you back in time -- fantastic. I am partial de CdG, but always a little anxious given bottle volatility (a lot of them have traveled too much, as this was not such a desirable / expensive wine back then). A clear, light colour when poured in the glass (which was a little lighter than I expected, but at least it was clear the wine was not oxydized, a good start!). The nose was crushed peanuts, honey, and promised some fizz. In the mouth, the wine just wanted to expand, as if it had waken up in a good mood! We enjoyed the bottle over several courses of Japanese delicacies, a perfect complement, the third person at the table! What a wine.
