Friday, October 14, 2022 - I'm a bit ambivalent on aged German Rieslings, but this just blew my mind. Still incredibly young in color, yellow straw with hints of green, long tears although alcohol is not more than 13%. Refined nose of apples, lemons, and peach, supported by an underlying tone of minerals and chalk (not much petroleum). Full bodied attack, but still not heavy in any way. The first part on the palate is fruity (apples and citrus). the mid part is drier and more mineral (chalk and stone dust), the aftertaste is lifted by a very fine and non-aggressive acidity. Light citrus and chalky tones sits for a minute and more. Tasted blind I would have sweared that this was a rather young wine (2015 or 14). Impressive. Keep for many years if you will.
