Sunday, February 28, 2010 - Nice nose with really an interesting mix of fruit and smokiness. This wine really seems like more of a field blend than a straight Zin. Darker fruit quickly takes over for the cherry red. Rustic and brambly almost like a light(er) Petite sirah. Finish and structure continues the same as it's framed by good tannin and acid. I think this Zin may benefit quite a bit with some age ( and I typically like to drink my Carlisle Zins young ).
