Wednesday, October 6, 2010 - I brought this wine to a friend's house to drink during a meeting. It was right on the edge between excellent and outstanding. Dark color, very smooth mouth feel, lots of red fruit and pepper spice. You want to say it was jammy? Go right ahead. Jam has flavor and so does this wine. There was no residual sugar in this wine, although there was a bit of apparent sweetness due to the strong fruit component. Nothing in the wood department, because I think the fruit has pushed the wood to the background. Maybe a tiny bit of vanilla, but only a faint touch. Moderate finish. No astringency, no bitterness, no mouth implosion. I could drink this wine three times a week and still enjoy it.
