Wednesday, July 4, 2012 - From a bottle that had been opened a couple of hours. Deep, dark, ruby color. Brambly berries, black pepper, licorice, dark chocolate, wood smoke, black cherry, and a nice floral note. Full bodied with fairly solid, ripe tannins and very nice acidity. Big, bold, spicy, peppery berries on the palate with a nice lift from the acidity. Long finish that shows a touch of alcohol, but not that noticeable. A great zin in a perfect drinking window, but no hurry on this one.
