Saturday, October 11, 2014 - Totally open for business from the moment the cork is pulled. Intense cherry pie filling and raspberry jam on the nose, not showing any sign of age. Slightly off-dry on the attack. Full-bodied but not at all overbearing, with balanced acidity and no discernible tannins. Unapologetically exuberant red fruit from beginning to end, but without ever seeming hot, flabby or overripe. Yes, there is some oak, but the wine has more than enough stuffing to keep it in check. The wine walks a fine line, but never comes close to crossing it. A very fine effort indeed.
