Friday, December 27, 2019 - I found two bottles in my admittedly poorly maintained inventory. I wondered what I'd get, and was pleased when I opened the first bottle: a bit past its prime, but nevertheless delicious. Carlisle Zins manifest a nearly perfect balance between flavors and weight, and these two bottles were true to that pattern. Spices, berries, and plums are evident in the glass, along with silky tannins. The first bottle was perfect with a number of cheeses and some homemade sourdough. The second bottle paired up well with shrimp in a spicy red sauce. I enjoyed these two, but if you have some of this era, I recommend you drink up.
