Friday, June 17, 2011 - I have been drinking Robert Mondavi Fume Blanc since I discovered the wonders of wine, and this could be the best ever. This special bottling is definitely a step up. Compared to this one, most of the other Fume's seem a little tired and oxidized. This one is crisp and elegant, with a creamy complexity. There is lemon and grapefruit, with some honey. The viscosity is noticeably heavier than a Sauvignon Blanc, but still has enough acid to keep things interesting. Intense and vibrant long finish that is so unique for this grape.
