Sunday, July 12, 2009 - Decanted 4 hrs. A nearly purple core with no bricking - this is still just a baby. The nose was reticent even after 4 hrs of decanting but finally opened up at the 6 hr mark to reveal black and blue fruits, lead pencil, tobacco leaf and saddle. Perfectly rounded edges and a finish that lasts nearly a minute. I prefer the structure and phenolics here compared to the '04 served the following night. It paired wonderfully with Azul's bone-in rib-eye. Approx $210, drink thru 2022
