Monday, November 3, 2014 - A robust Cornas at its peak, I think, but showing no signs of senility. The nose was very attractive with a strong floral element (violets) with some underlying dark fruit and grilled meat. Palate was medium/full bodied with dark fruit enhanced by violet, pepper, secondary hints and lively acidity, texture was somewhat matt and the finish was marked by some still robust tannins. Some may find this a bit rustic but that is how Cornas always used to be until the last decade or so and I like it like that. Very good.
