Wednesday, May 18, 2011 - Initially youthful notes (especially for it's age) of subtle tomato skin, floral and mineral and a bit a barnyard/earthy quality that has blown off and now it has closed up a little but also a touch of heat on the nose.
The palate is lean and lively and screaming of bright cherry and cherry tomato; underlying but very subtle mushroom notes. The finish lingers with a clean acidity and the whole wine is tied together by a rustic theme while still being clean, fresh and refined.
Great on it own or with antipasti.
Tasted at Mercatto with PK.
