Saturday, August 20, 2011 - Drank out of 375 purchased from the winery December 2010. Dark plum color. Nose of gamey meat, leather, candied cherry. Tannis rip on the palate. Tart cranberry attack, leads into a pleasantly dry midpalate with a heat-spike on the midpalate, but it's backed up with a lush mouthfeel, and a long bitter mocha finish. All in all an enjoyable wine that could probably use more time in bottle to soften the edges. Pleasant experience from shafer as usual.
