Friday, March 24, 2023 - Large deepish ruby core, with brick-red going to russet at edge. Nose of new barrique, pencil shavings, malt and older, fading cabernet. Two hours later, the berry has been multiplying and is now showing more of a cassis outline, albeit of a slightly roasted character. Medium body, with sweetish berry immediately apparent, followed by a slightly oaky middle. Still possessing grip on the slightly bitter finish. The length could be better. Seems to need to soften more. It surprised me to find this bottle to be close to an exact replica of the one noted here in 04.2014. It seems that the wine hasn't progressed at all since. Be that as it may, this bottle of traditional claret was quite delicious and fine.
