Saturday, July 14, 2012 - Coffee, leather, smoke, dark chocolate and cherry on the nose. Stewed fruit, leather, bitter sweet chocolate, tobacco and mint on the palate. Quite well balanced and not at all hot despite the 14.5% alcohol. Medium finish, but a little one dimensional - heavy on the smoke. It was excellent paired with a steak, very smooth, would probably also pair well with a dark chocolate dessert. Will definitely be looking for another bottle. Just wanted to note that there was a fair amount of sediment in the bottle, this doesn't bother us, but I would recommend decanting and running through a fine mesh filter if this bothers you.
