Thursday, February 6, 2014 - Slow-ox'ed for several hours, then followed over three days.
Medium-light garnet with some bricking on the rims, clear.
Ripe fruit on the nose, with tar and a warm, enveloping bouquet. Dark, deep tones, and has gained complexity with time.
Intense and strong on the palate, also on deep tones. Not heavy, though.
Fine-grained, somewhat drying and strong tannins. Good length. The aftertaste is surprisingly on fresh cherry notes.
It went very well with food - on its own one feels the alcohol.
I liked it better than the 2006.
