96 Points

Saturday, April 9, 2022 - From a great looking bottle, this wine had a yellow center and clear rims. The medium+ intensity nose showed attractive jelly notes at first. After a few hours of air it evolved into white stone, macaroon, lemon, petroleum jelly, and vanilla flavors.

In the mouth, this was rich and ripe with great acidity and huge length. While not heavy at all, this wine had a huge flavor impact and excellent complexity.

This was Grand Cru quality. While at peak now, a bottle in this condition would have lasted 5+ years in the cellar. After 5 hours of air, this White Burg was staggeringly great for a Premier Cru! The best of this bottling I can recall.
