90 Points

Saturday, August 6, 2011 - Light warm-red hue, no deposit. High-toned, red-fruity nose with funny and surprising notes of mango, orange, watermelon and cucumber - like a fresh salad, quite unusual in the barolo context. Very fresh, pure and chalky taste, more acidic than tannic, though the finish surely doesn't lack grip. A really beautiful wine that shows new aspects for every bottle we open, but it's always a joy to drink for refreshment purposes. No signs of retirement, will hold and develop for at least a further three to four years, maybe more.
