Sunday, October 12, 2014 - I am not an expert in vintage Champagne, and in fact this is my first time drinking one over 10 years old. That said, I found a lot to like here. Depth and layers of nuance with a long finish. The color is a moderate gold, the nose has a distinct oxidized, sherry-like note along with toast and green grass, and the palate is very balanced. It paired very nicely with mushroom risotto and lemon-caper chicken breast.
