Wednesday, March 30, 2016 - Open for four hours. Aromas are dark with a streak of acidity to them, but overall the notes are quite lovely and the acidity adds a nice high tone to those dark fruits; nice exuberance. Palate entry is mild, with more darkly complected fruit; perhaps ripe plum skins, red grapes. Finish is slightly stewed with more dark fruits, pervasive acidity, and a slightly over ripe character. I think I had my ideal window correct as ending at 2014, as this bottle does seem to be on the decline vs other bottles I've had prior. Still enjoyable today, but drink up. My best bottle was consumed in 2010.
